Chipotle Yogurt Condiment

Variety is the spice of life right?
Well, how bout a smokey, spicy sauce to accompany some onion rings or fried chicken?

That's what we did tonight.
Actually, it started out as a sauce for some corn cakes.
But since I made fried chicken and onion rings as well, it migrated.
It made my rings happy!

Who needs ketchup?  Not this gal!
Now, if I can remember what was in it so that you can enjoy it too we'll all be happy campers!
Truth be told I didn't measure - I went by taste so please feel free to add or omit where you like, because remember, everyone has different pallets.  Amounts are approximations :)

Lets go!

Chipotle Yogurt Condiment

1/3 c. yogurt
1/4 c. mayo
2 tsp. chipotle in adobo
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/4 tsp. paprika
pinch of chili powder

Chop up a little chipotle but use the adobo as your base.
Add this to your yogurt and mayo.  Mix well to combine.
Start adding in your spices, tasting as you go.
Thats it....
:)

    1. I always have a can in the pantry and when I dont use the whole thing (which is always) I just put the rest in a ziploc and toss it in the freezer! (whole or buzzed to a puree)

  2. YUM. I actually just got some chipotle powder for another recipe I'm working on - any idea how much I might use because I haven't got a clue! I guess I'll have to just taste as I go...

    1. Hey Justine, I found this for you - but I would definitly go by taste too!
      2 rehydrated = 2 chipotles in adobo + 2 teaspoons sauce
1/2 to 1 teaspoon powder = 1 whole dried reconstituted
5 dried rehydrated chipotles = 2 teaspoons powder or 2 chipotles in adobo.
